January 2008: Cases for two different defendants initially arrested for murder resolved with lesser charges. One involved murder during offense of armed robbery and the second murder as part of gang related activity. The first received a probated sentence to Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana. The second received a sentence of five years for aggravated Assault. Both defendants were facing a potential "life" sentence for murder.
February 2008: Multiple probation warrants (3 cases) dismissed against client. Mr. Moncus attacked the legality of the "affidavits" used to support the warrants resulting in dismissal of all warrants.
May 2008: Multi-defendant, multi-count Federal RICO, Murder, and Conspiracy indictment resolved following two and one-half years of legal representation. Case involved drug trafficking with multiple homicides (5). The client was facing a "life plus" sentence. The Client received eleven years to serve with credit for time served.
